Cookies and local storage
Cookies are small pieces of data that a website can ask your browser to keep and send with later requests. LocalStorage is a separate browser mechanism that stores values for a website on your device. Unlike an ordinary cookie, a localStorage value is not automatically attached to every page request.
The editorial pages do not include advertising cookies, third-party analytics scripts, external fonts or embedded social media. Images and page resources are referenced locally. Following an external link takes you to another website whose storage practices are governed by its own information and controls.
Consent preferences
Where the website’s consent interface offers Accept and Essential Only, the choice can be remembered using the localStorage key summitmaplehorizn-consent. The stored value is accept or essential. Its purpose is to remember the selection rather than repeatedly request it; the value does not contain your name, message or email address.
| Name | Type and purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| summitmaplehorizn-consent | First-party localStorage; remembers a consent selection when the consent interface is present. | No automatic expiry; remains until cleared by you or your browser. |
Choosing Accept does not itself add tracking to these editorial pages. Optional technologies, if introduced, must be described and controlled appropriately before use. Choosing Essential Only should leave the reading experience and contact drafting tool available.
Changing or removing a choice
Use your browser’s site-data settings to remove stored data for summitmaplehorizn.com. Clearing site storage removes the saved preference, so a consent interface may ask again on a later visit. You can also block local storage or cookies through browser controls; the preference may then be unavailable or may not persist.
Browser settings differ, so consult your browser’s own help for instructions. Private browsing may discard stored choices when its session ends. Clearing storage is separate from deleting downloaded text files, clipboard content or emails you have already sent.
The message drafting tool
The contact tool keeps its working draft in the current page’s memory, not in localStorage. Copy uses the Clipboard API where available. Download creates a text file on your device. Neither action sends a message to us. Your browser may separately offer autofill or form restoration according to your settings.
